Tours
Looking forward to 2022 and beyond one has to be hopeful that all the things we have enjoyed in the past will resume and that is the same with trips and tours which are being booked and resuming now. Historically the society has planned for a ‘mini’ tour in the UK, perhaps to one of the great cities, Glasgow or Liverpool for the galleries or museums, or a region of England where we can visit great houses and discover more about local industries. For example in 2020 it was planned to visit Oxford and some of the great places of artistic interest there and also in the Cotswolds and sadly this had to be cancelled.
In addition, historically, the programme would normally include a ‘grand’ tour. In 2019, the venue was Berlin, to study the History and Art of Berlin and Potsdam and was very much enjoyed by all. The much anticipated 2020 trip to Bologna, Ravenna, Mantua and Ferrara again had to be cancelled.
Happily we are offering both the cancelled trips again – this time for 2022 – and in addition as the Floriade in the Netherlands only happens every 10 years and that tour is by train then there is an autumn tour available to visit the Netherlands, the Floriade and the Dutch Masters.
All tours are booked with a company that has a national reputation for this kind of travel. The accommodation is always in a quality hotel, and all visits are guided by expert guides.
